The University of Agder (UiA) has 13,000 students and 1,400 faculty and staff members. The Department of Information Systems is one of four departments belonging to the Faculty of Social Sciences. The department provides teaching and research at the intersection of technology, organization, and business administration. In addition to teaching academic programs in information systems on all levels, the Department of Information Systems maintains close relations to the practice field. The Department is a member of the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) network.

The Department of Information Systems is strongly involved in the following research centres:

  • CeDiT –Centre for Digital Transformation
  • CIEM –Centre for Integrated Emergency Management
  • Centre for eHealth

The Department has 27 faculty members with 14 professors, 9 associate professors and 5 assistant professors. In addition, the Department currently has 14 PhD candidates and 335 bachelor and master students.
