Meals during ECIS

All servings on campus and at the reception will be vegetarian. This is one of the measures to make the conference more sustainable.

The reception will be at Kilden Theathre and Concert Hall. Conference dinner will take place at the Fish Quay. Due to the capacity of the restaurants, seating must be arranged before arrival (see e-mail sent out to participants). The dinner menu is a typical Norwegian shellfish-platter. Due to the nature of the logistics, vegetarians/vegans and those who are allergic to shellfish will be seated at restaurant Hos Moi.

For lunch on Wednesday and Thursday you can choose between a hot meal in the canteen, or a grab-and-go sandwich to enjoy during a lunch-walk in beautiful Jegersberg next to the campus (please remember shoes in which you can go for a walk on the gravel roads and/or the paths).

To/from the airport

Bus
The local bus (line 35 Tveit) is the local bus service between the city of Kristiansand and Kjevik. As any local route, line 35 follows a scheduled route/time plan, and will not customize its departure times due to example delayed flight arrival. Line 35 departs from bus stop A at the terminal, at 5 minutes to each hour. It takes approximately 33 minutes from the airport to the city center. We advise you to download the AKT travel planner and mobile app (see also below).

Taxi
Approx. 400 NOK one way for up to four persons. There is a fixed price from/to the airport.

Public transportation to/from campus

With a distance of only 3 kilometers between the city center and the campus, you can either walk, take the bus or a taxi between the locations. Travelling with our fully electric buses are very easy. We advise you to download the AKT travel planner and mobile app. Note that single tickets pre-paid through the app are cheaper than single tickets purchased using cash or a credit/debit card on board the bus. Buying a ticket in advance saves time and money – the bus gets to its destination quicker and it makes travelling more reasonable!

The bus takes approximately 10 minutes and runs every 5 or so minutes.

From the city center you can take the following lines: 12, 19, 36, 40E, 46, 51, 136, M1, M2, M3, and M4. You will find the bus stops at Henrik Wergelands gate, Festningsgata and Tollbodgata.

From the campus you can take the following lines to the city center: 12, 19, 35, M1, M2, M3, and M4.

On campus

Registration/service desk is located at the main entrance at the university. The registration desk will be open on campus on Sunday June 11th from 12:00 - 17:00. The registration/service desk will also be open from 09:00 - 18:00 from June 12th - June 16th.

Wifi on campus can be accessed either through Eduroam, by creating a guest account, or using a separate wifi network for the conference. For the separate network, use ECIS with the password UiA-2023. The guest account is created on minside.uia.no. It takes approx. 30 min before this is active and it is active for 30 days. It can only be used on campus and does not provide access to VPN.
