Co-Creating New Ways of Information Systems Education
13 June 2023
09:00 - 16:00
A7 001

This full-day workshop aims at bringing together educators in information systems and related fields to report on and discuss their experience with new ways of teaching, motivating students, and assessing knowledge both in on-site and off-site environments using innovative education tools and technologies. It integrates dedicated abstract presentation sessions in the morning and hands-on workshop-like experiences in the afternoon. The preliminary schedule can be found here: Workshop Program.

Participants are invited to submit a 2-page extended abstract (ECIS proceedings format; Submission deadline April 15th) outlining their experience with novel education approaches, typically supported by using digital tools and technology and their motivation for attending the workshop (outlining their expected learnings). We invite participants to extend their abstracts (which may be available on the workshop website but not be published in any other form) into a respective research paper to be submitted to a special issue on the design of and interaction with modern education technologies to be published in the MDPI MTI Open Access Journal. For more information about the abstract and submission modalities, please see: Call for Abstracts.

We hope that most participants will attend the workshop in person. We will, however, also cater for virtual participation, both with the abstract presentation sessions as well as the hands-on sessions in the afternoon. Thus, we have appointed a separate online chair (Prof. Dr. Christian Ploder, MCI – The Entrepreneurial School, Austria), who will deal with matters of online inclusion. In the afternoon, online participants will be distributed among the in-person groups.
